We purchased this 1955 home from the original owner, and gave it a contemporary make-over to fit it's trendy neighborhood. We used polished concrete floors throughout the main living areas to give it a cool, modern feel. Removing a dividing wall in the kitchen was more than necessary in order to rearrange and truly maximize the kitchen. The master bathroom was also completely rearranged including removing an exterior door to make room for a new double vanity, a large walk-in shower and to create an better overall flow. One of the biggest changes that maximized the value of this home and catering to home buyers in today's market, was removing the exterior wall of the master bedroom to open it up to an existing covered patio. By doing so, the existing master bedroom became more of a sitting room off of the master and the once covered patio turned into a huge master suite with french doors to a freshly poured patio and large walk-in master closet.
This original 1955 Kitchen was everything you would invasion it to be, canary yellow and bright green wallpaper, blue painted cabinets, and 50's appliances to boot. Removing a dividing wall in the kitchen was more than necessary in order to rearrange and truly maximize the kitchen. We saw cut the concrete to bring plumbing to new island for the new location of sink and dishwasher. Doing so, we were able to double the amount of storage in the perimeter of this kitchen. A custom black hood tied in with the custom black island and perfectly complimented the black honed limestone picket tile backsplash.
